Projects
The Brisbane New Civitas Lions Club contributes to a variety of projects around the Brisbane area and overseas, from providing supplies to children going into foster care and collecting items for domestic violence victims, to volunteering at a local koala rescue organisation, to collecting books for disadvantaged children in Papua New Guinea. Our members follow their passions to assist those in need. Further information on each project can be found on our Blog and Social Media.

Queensland Koala Society
The Queensland Koala Society, based in Chandler Brisbane, is one of our main projects, where we have assisted with regular volunteering, fundraising and our most recent endeavour, repairing the roof to their chicken coop.

Care Kits for Kids
Care Kits for Kids provide practical essential needs, (new backpacks of new clothes, toiletries, education supplies, books, toys, quilts/wraps) to children going in to care, showing children in care or crisis that they matter and their community cares. Our Club assisted them by organising a collection of new items, resulting in 26 boxes of donations.

RizeUp
RizeUp Australia is an organisation dedicated to supporting the many families affected by domestic violence. Whilst raising awareness about family violence, RizeUp also provides practical assistance - from helping to create a new home for victims fleeing a violent household and supporting children in their healing process, to raising much-needed funds for families left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Our Club has provided food and household items and also financial support.

3rd Space
3rd Space is a day-time drop-in centre where people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Brisbane can find support, through access to clothing, toiletries, shower facilities, meals and other services. Our Club provided donations of clothing and toiletries.

Share The Dignity
Share the Dignity hold their It's In The Bag campaign every year, which encourages everyday Australians to put together Adult, Teen or Mum and Bub bags filled with essential items, and maybe some everyday luxuries and a handwritten note, to donate to someone in need for Christmas. These bags are distributed to women and girls waking up in a domestic violence refuge or homeless shelter and help make their Christmas a little brighter. Our Club was able to collect items to donate 22 bags filled with essentials and other goods, plus an individual handwritten note for each person, to contribute to this wonderful cause.

Books 4 PNG Kids
Books4PNGKids aims to help early reader literacy in Papua New Guinea (PNG), by collecting and distributing books and stationery to children throughout PNG, particularly those in remote and rural areas who are often more disadvantaged.
Our Club has held two book drives, supported by members of the public which resulted in 32 cartons of books being donated.
